Hello readers! Now we are very aware that some of you are less dedicated than others to following our dear website. In an ideal world we’d just glue you all face first to our RSS feed with only a copy of Slanted & Enchanted on repeat for comfort. Lacking the expertise to pull off such a sadist masterplan though, we’ve settled with compiling 3 months worth of comment reviews and insight into one nifty post. Aren’t we good to you?

What’s more laughable- the fact that Liam Gallagher thinks it’s still ‘95 and that we find Britpop boisterousness fresh and amusing, or that he had Duffy’s Rockferry to compete against for the best British album since 1980? We really can’t decide. Somehow we wish Dizzee Rascal had done a stage intrusion and told Phil Collins he made one of the best albums of all time, but since when did the Brits make our dreams come true?

When I split the Turkey wishbone at Christmas dinner this year I’m going to wish to go back to the 1950s for a day. Not just for the sweet-as jumpers, floppy quiffs and extreme social conservatism but for pop stars like Cliff. He had the hip thrusts of Elvis and the signature sound of Little Richard but minus any sense of threatening sexuality. He was the boyfriend you could take to the movies without having to give it up on the car ride back home.
