Hello readers! Now we are very aware that some of you are less dedicated than others to following our dear website. In an ideal world we’d just glue you all face first to our RSS feed with only a copy of Slanted & Enchanted on repeat for comfort. Lacking the expertise to pull off such a sadist masterplan though, we’ve settled with compiling 3 months worth of comment reviews and insight into one nifty post. Aren’t we good to you?

Ok so we don’t have Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard or the unfunny slap head but what we do have is the best of the week’s music news compiled into one simple list. This week Eminem on the X Factor, Simon Reynolds on hip-hop and Muse at Glastonbury 2010.
U2 @ Glastonbury?

According to this morning’s edition of The Sun, Irish rockers U2 will play their debut Glastonbury set headlining the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night. If this is true it will be AMAZING!!! If not Gordon Smart’s hate mail inbox will grow exponentially. Make it happen Mr. Murdoch…
EDIT 10.33am: BBC confirm the story! U2 will headline Glastonbury on Friday 25 June [presumably the Beeb were too excited with the news themselves to get the date on their article correct].
The Great Glasto Ticket Scramble

Like a giddy schoolboy on Christmas morning today The Counterfit woke up in a haze of excitement rushed to it’s laptop and into the race for a Glastonbury 2010 ticket. Obviously this is exaggerating proceedings slightly; there was no race more a frenzied click of the refresh button for seetickets.com and instead of getting a brand new Tracy Island play thing we each shelled out £195 to bathe in mud for a week. Still we’re both going to Glastonbury and we’re very excited. Carry on…
