Yet for every ‘Ron Paul for President’ YouTube crusade there always seems to be a ‘Jeremy Clarkson for PM’ Facebook group ready to restore the Zen-like balance and make you re-assess your faith in humanity.

The Christmas number 1 spot in the UK Singles Chart is one of the most coveted prizes in the music industry, and one which has been claimed by the likes of Benny Hill, Band Aid and Bob The Builder.
